In their more than ten-year history, DOPE has recorded 5 studio albums, gained a huge crowd of fans, and sold more than a million albums worldwide. They managed to play on the same stages with the most famous bands, their music was and still is heard in many movies and blockbuster games. Yes, the path of DOPE's success and growth is complex and impressive. And with each new album, the band gets more and more fans.
Fully determined to succeed, Edsel Dope officially announced the formation of the band in 1997, when he was already living in New York. And that's where it all started... a completely life-changing deal with a big label. Label change as “a good experience, crisis and recovery.” Changing band members and searching for “the ones". “Life-defining”tours and moving to the Midwest to “settle down, calm down and think.” What else? Well, of course, sex, drugs and rock'n'roll.
“I've learned a lot. There's nothing left that the music business can throw at me, and I haven't had time to deal with it yet. I'm comfortable here. I like it here. I generally think of myself as a veteran of this game, you know… I'm probably not as nimble and quick as some of the young guys who are coming on stage now, but I know how to get in the stream and how to stay afloat, and more than that, succeed,” says Dope.
The DOPE band knows exactly what their fans need. Therefore, each new album carries a simple mission: to fall in love with listeners, give them the necessary boost of crazy energy, a great sound ... and the desire to come to the concert to have a good time listening to their favorite action movies.
The band is releasing a new long-awaited album in the fall, so on November 2, numerous fans will finally be able to hear it along with the rest of the hits in the Waiting Room club.
